As I look back at the past month and wonder where it went, I see that Yes!Chef! and I have been pretty busy with life type stuff and he hasn’t had a lot of time to cook up a bunch of things for the blog.

Do you have childhood memories of Poke Cake? I used to make Poke Cake for my kids when they were small, mostly because it was easy and they loved it. Sometimes I made it with Jello, but mostly I made it with pudding and Cool Whip topping. My youngest (who just turned 20) does not ever remember me making a poke cake. He only remembers cupcakes.

The members of the Schmautzhaus have gotten together again for some summer celebrating. This time we were celebrating two birthdays for the price of one, so to speak. Two birthdays were exactly a week apart, so we all got together yet again.
I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream
We all scream for ice cream, is how that saying is supposed to go. However, I am now 1 for 3 as far as ice cream goes (1 win to 2 losses). So, now every time I tell my fam that I’m thinking about making ice cream, I think they all do a silent scream.
Roast Beast or Family Birthday Happiness
I am starting to fall a little behind with Yes!Chef!’s food blogging. He’s pumping out great food faster than I can take pictures, edit them, taste the food and blog. Then, there’s this whole world around me that is begging to be photographed, to say nothing of my photography business. So many beautiful people, so little time. I’ve been as busy as our Lavender Bees. All this to say that I have some heavy duty catching up to do, hopefully in the next few days.
