I have never been to a lobster feast…or a clam bake. So, we were quite excited when we saw The Deloach Vineyards members only Lobster Feast. The date was within a week of our 34th Anniversary, so we made reservations, which lead to this whole, sweet Napa and Sonoma mini vacation.

When you think of summer what food comes to mind? Watermelon? Ripe tomatoes? Sweet corn? Mostly I think of fresh, ripe fruit and vegetables. A family that we know very well visited the East Coast this last month. They took lots of pictures of their trip which we enjoyed seeing on Facebook. They did make a stop in Maine and began showing photos of lobster rolls. I couldn’t get my mind off lobster rolls (especially after seeing so many pictures), so I thought we should make them with our own spin.
As I look back at the past month and wonder where it went, I see that Yes!Chef! and I have been pretty busy with life type stuff and he hasn’t had a lot of time to cook up a bunch of things for the blog.

Carrots have a lot going for them. They are a pretty color, they are a little sweet, you can eat them raw or cook them and they taste good. In a pinch, you can feed them to horses (or rabbits). Most especially, though: they are very economical and good for you.
