So, Yes!Chef! has returned home from Boston and he is feeling like cooking up some goodness again. (Everyone at the Schmautzhaus says Huzzah!) And, boy, is recipe a great way to come back. The salmon was crispy on the outside and creamy and fresh on the inside. The sauce was sublime. It had everything I like: lemon, capers and basil. All of it sitting on a bed of fresh spinach. It was the perfect meal after a longish walk with Obie T. Dogg in beautiful Lake Tahoe.

There are three things that say summer to me: watermelon, fresh ripe tomatoes and sweet corn. The recipe today has all three items…except the corn. So, I guess technically, it only has two of the best summer ingredients. But, that’s okay because you are going to love it so much that you won’t even miss the corn.
Berries are a good way to celebrate summer. Ice Cream always says summer. Add summertime Basil and you can make yourself a yummy summertime dessert that encompasses all three flavors plus a surprise crumble on top. I mean, seriously, how can you resist this?
Orange fish is one of my favorite fish to eat.
But, don’t worry, this post is not about eating Clown Fish…or even goldfish.
I found this photo on Facebook, but I do not know who to credit. Here’s a link: Fish Face
With all that snow we had the other day I began to crave some nice hot soup. Two of my comfort soups are tomato soup and mushroom soup. Yes! Chef! was going into town to drop the youngest off at his job and I suggested that he pick up some tomato soup for me.
Needless to say, he did just what I asked and came home with a can of familiar tomato soup. He plunked the can on the counter and I thanked him very much. However, the thought of eating condensed canned tomato soup was very unappetizing, so I ate oatmeal cookies instead. (Yipes!)
