And so my favorite season started on September 23. Well, my favorite season after the Christmas season. But fall makes me happy. I love the beauty of the changing colors, clouds in the sky, fires in the fireplace and sweaters. Here in the Sierras, we also look forward to the rain.
Yes!Chef! loves meatballs. And he likes to make big, fat meatballs with lots of flavor, which usually means a high degree of fat. We are not afraid of fat because, as Julia Child said, “Fat is flavor.”
Barbecue! That word conjures up summer and swimming and fresh fruit and veggies and meat cooking on the grill.
And…the age old argument about barbecue sauce. Should it be sweet or tart? Homemade or store bought? Meat marinated in the sauce or used after the meat is cooked? We are here to say, “Yes!” to all of the above.
Appetizers for Low Carbers or Gluten Free-ers or just hungry people
A family that we know very well visited the East Coast this last month. They took lots of pictures of their trip which we enjoyed seeing on Facebook. They did make a stop in Maine and began showing photos of lobster rolls. I couldn’t get my mind off lobster rolls (especially after seeing so many pictures), so I thought we should make them with our own spin.
The above elf is not Edmond. Edmond is older, taller and wears red.
He doesn’t mind purple, he just thinks it’s not as festive as red and green.
Last blog post I introduced you to my little elf friend, Edmond Elf. (PS he doesn’t like to be called Ed or Eddie or any derivation thereof. I found that out the hard way.)He is a good natured elf, but gets himself into all kinds of trouble because he’s a curious little guy and quite full of himself. He joined our family last year.
