Adventures in Napa/Sonoma, Day 2, The Lobster Feast

2017 Russian River Vacation-486-2YC blogI have never been to a lobster feast…or a clam bake.  So, we were quite excited when we saw The Deloach Vineyards members only Lobster Feast.  The date was within a week of our 34th Anniversary, so we made reservations, which lead to this whole, sweet Napa and Sonoma mini vacation.

Taste this soup and it will put a smile on your face.  You won’t even have to say, “Cheese.” (PS.  take some advice from a photographer and never ask your subjects to say cheese…that’s where the term “cheesy smile” comes from.  So, just ask them to smile.) This soup has everything a comfort food soup should have:  cheese, bacon, smoked chicken, a little Tabasco and some vegetables, especially broccoli.  So, what more do you need in order to make it? Bring-Your-Own-Chair Easter Event or “I don’t normally like cauliflower, but I like this Cauliflower”

We are still waiting to move in to the Mid Century Modern home (affectionately known as The Money Pit) that we are remodeling.  The only items left are putting together the Easy Closet System  (looks complicated) and getting our brand new Induction Range working.  We haven’t even had a chance to use it yet (except once when we boiled water.)  And now it doesn’t work, even though the repairman has been there three times and plans on coming out this week.  Sigh.  If it’s not one thing, it’s another.  (If you want to read about our remodeling “adventures” you can find it here.)
