*UPDATE 12/20/19. Unfortunately Soda Rock Winery burned down in the Sonoma Fire. We are hoping they will rebuild.

After our great and satisfying visit to Lynmar Estate Winery, we headed out to Alexander Valley for an appointment we had with Alexander Valley Vineyards.

Adventures in Napa/Sonoma, Day 2, The Lobster Feast

2017 Russian River Vacation-486-2YC blogI have never been to a lobster feast…or a clam bake.  So, we were quite excited when we saw The Deloach Vineyards members only Lobster Feast.  The date was within a week of our 34th Anniversary, so we made reservations, which lead to this whole, sweet Napa and Sonoma mini vacation.

We had planned to stop at R+D Kitchen for lunch as part of our itinerary.  We had been here a couple of times before and we liked it so much that we wanted to go again. Plus, our next appointment was at 2:00 and it was within 10 minutes from the restaurant.

Adventures in Napa and Sonoma or Happy Anniversary to Us. Day 1

Yes!Chef! and I celebrated 34 years of wedded bliss a few days ago.  To mark the occasion, we decided to take a short vacation in Napa and Sonoma. Yes!Chef! has been notably missing from the cooking scene as he got himself involved in a day job that required a lot of travel and left little time for cooking.

Homemade Boursin Cheese served with a vineyard

I’ve been wanting to make this ever since I found the recipe and I finally had a chance a couple of months ago when my family was coming over for dinner.  My oldest loves Boursin Cheese, but it is very expensive.  So, I was quite excited to find this recipe especially since it is very economical and makes a large batch.
