If you are on Facebook, I’m sure you have noticed the pictures of food that come complete with recipes.  They say things like, “2 Ingredient Frosting”, or “My mom could not believe how easy this Cordon Blue Recipe is”, or “Tastes just like the original Taco Bell Refried Beans.”  This Ranch Salad Dressing recipe says, “Best ranch you’ll ever taste and its homemade. I was at the store the other day and I saw a “Family Pack” of Pork Sirloin chops on sale.  So, on a whim I picked up a package for Yes!Chef!  When Yes!Chef! saw the package in the refrigerator, I shouted “Surprise.  Happy Birthday!  It’s a food challenge!”  Yes, it was Y!C!’s birthday and he was quite surprised that he was going to be cooking for his own birthday.

Fall Walks, Bears in the Creek and Roast Pork with Gravy…what could be better?

I felt a little bit guilty yesterday writing about bad fried chicken purchased in a grocery store without writing about some of the Yes!Chef! made food that we have been having here at the Schmautz Haus.  Yes!Chef! loves the fall because he loves fall cooking.  He likes to make slow-cooked meats, home made gravies, fresh mashed potatoes, slow roasted veggies…I could go on.
