2017 Russian River Vacation-486-2YC blogI have never been to a lobster feast…or a clam bake.  So, we were quite excited when we saw The Deloach Vineyards members only Lobster Feast.  The date was within a week of our 34th Anniversary, so we made reservations, which lead to this whole, sweet Napa and Sonoma mini vacation.

Adventures in Napa and Sonoma, Day 2

Day 2 found us waking up in the little Airbnb cottage.  Comfy beds and pillows, along with a fairly quiet night helped us to wake up very rested.

Since we were staying in a comfy little cottage in the middle of a construction/landscaping yard, there were some worker guys walking around outside and getting in their trucks to go to work.  That was a little disconcerting, but it didn’t spoil our day. Crispy Salmon with Lemon, Basil and Caper Sauce with a side of Lake Tahoe

Salmon with Lemon, Basil and Caper Sauce 3So, Yes!Chef! has returned home from Boston and he is feeling like cooking up some goodness again. (Everyone at the Schmautzhaus says Huzzah!) And, boy, is recipe a great way to come back.  The salmon was crispy on the outside and creamy and fresh on the inside.  The sauce was sublime. It had everything I like:  lemon, capers and basil.  All of it sitting on a bed of fresh spinach.  It was the perfect meal after a longish walk with Obie T. Dogg in beautiful Lake Tahoe.

Now, here’s a recipe that can be made quickly and is great for a weeknight autumn evening.  Satisfying, spicy, shrimpy and delicious. But, don’t forget to remove the shells from the shrimp.

What’s Cooking or what have I been doing with my time, lately?

Honestly, I have not been wasting my time while my husband, Yes!Chef!, has been slaving away in the kitchen.  I know it looks like it from the photo above.  But I was actually on a weekend photo shoot last weekend and I left Yes!Chef! and Obie T. Dogg alone.
